James began selling Real Estate in 1986 and he quickly became a top San Francisco Sales Producer. That same year he founded Vanguard Properties. Under his leadership and standards of excellence, it has grown to be one of the most innovative boutique real estate firms in California.

He now directs a team of over 400 talented agents and marketing professionals in 11 offices in San Francisco, Marin and Sonoma Counties, and Palm Springs who have generated more than $10 Billion dollars in home sales.
